Avengers: Age of Ultron

Okay guys. This is full of spoilers! Don't read if you haven't seen the movie!

Okay. Let's do this!
Joss Whedon is no stranger in the geek world. He has written and created some of the most compelling movies and t.v. shows within the last decade or so, not to mention the previous Avengers film. How does it compare? Let's find out.

THE GOOD:
Right off the bat, it pulls you in with a great action scene and you get to see that the team is familiar with each other and treats them as good friends. These actors have really good chemistry,  the character development is nicely done. Especially for Hawkeye. We never learned anything about him in other movies, but now we know what he's about. More on that later.
We're also introduced to Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision,  and our villain Ultron.
This version of Quicksilver was good, but I like the Days of Future Past version of him best. He had more personality and was a mutant. Scarlet Witch had more to do and was a nice addition.
Ultron really stole the show! He's my second favorite villain in the MCU. He was smart, cunning, vile, and funny. And was a robot that has a very human personality and can be so laidback at times. Great job, James Spader.

Vision is an excellent addition and I love the origins of him and that he was built as the ultimate Frankenstein project that succeeded. Paul Bettany and the prosthetics job was fantastic! Can't wait to see what else they'll do with him!

THE BAD:
There was A LOT going on in this movie.
This had the job of planting seeds for future movies, especially for Thanos and the Infinity War. Really, it was just a bit too crowded and rushed. I don't blame Whedon for this. Even he said it was too crowded and difficult. It doesn't hurt the movie, but it is noticeable.
Quicksilver's death wasn't necessary. Especially since is the first time we know him! Whedon is known for killing characters, but the way the movie was going.  It looked like Hawkeye was going to go. That would've been a smarter move.
Speaking of which. The pacing was much slower. When we got to Clint's safehouse, it came to a screeching halt!

Next, Hulk and Black Widow's romance made no sense! Like Quicksilver, it was there, but gone by the end of the movie. Plus kinda out of character for her.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Definitely worth seeing! I like the first one more, just by a bit.
Had a lot of great moments, but expect a very crowded story with great characters. Next review is Tomorrowland!
